Slowness
What would it feel like, I wonder, to be raised in a place of safety?
How would the next generation operate if their family held them completely?
If the mothers had time to gently plait hair, as they sipped freshly brewed tea...
How would our world be, if siblings had the time and space to grow alongside one another, instead of being separated so early.
Would they grow to be best friends? Confidants? Helpful advisors?
What would children be like if they had time to pursue their passions, and explore this world slowly?
Do we even remember what it is like to live a life of slowness?
To not have rushed mornings and quickly packed convenient lunches?
Would they eat better?
Would we breathe deeper?
Could we walk for longer...
into the depths of the forest, and along the half hidden magical paths?
I can’t help but think our mind, body and souls would be more well rounded, more whole and more adjusted.
That community would be stronger.
That families would be stronger.
That our children would be stronger.
If we lived that slow life of genuine connection…
